Yvonne Stratton
Yvonne Stratton of Plainwell passed away Saturday, November 01, 2014 in Plainwell. Yvonne was born August 23, 1963 in Junction City, KS to Geoffrey and Ila (Mellen) Phillips. Her family would like to thank all of their friends from the neighborhood for their help and friendship and the staff at Reverence Home Hospice and Yvonne’s co-workers from the Admiral as well as all of her customers for their thoughts, prayers and care.
Yvonne is survived by her children, Andy Stratton II and Ila Paige Stratton; a grandson Ryhker Jaxsin Stratton; her father, Geoffrey Phillips; her siblings, Colleta Barber of OH, Richard Phillips of TX and Susan Beyler of NY; many aunts, uncles and cousins who the family also thanks for all their help. Yvonne was preceded in death by her mother, Ila and by her brother, Robert of FL. Cremation has taken place and she has been laid to rest with her mother at Mt. Home Cemetery in Otsego.
Contributions in memory of Yvonne may be made to the Allegan County Animal Shelter.

My sympathy goes to Andy, Tiffany and little Ryhker. Knowing that Yvonne was ill does not make her passing easier for her family. May peace be with all of you at this sad time.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Yvonne for 15 years, her daughter Ila and my daughter Bridget have been good friends since kindergarten. I know that life was a struggle for her being a single mom, but she always did the best she could. Ila has been a part of our family for many years and will always be welcome in our home. I promised her mom that we would watch over her; as long as there is breath in our lungs we will. I know that you are at rest now Yvonne, my the angels watch over your family until you are reunited again. Ila, we love you girl, and we are here whenever you need someone to talk to or just a shoulder to cry on, you will always be part of our family. RIP Yvonne.

I’m deeply sorry for your families loss of Ms. Yvonne Stratton, a precious life gone too soon. May you find comfort through God’s word the bible at this difficult time dealing with that “crushed and lowly spirit” (Isaiah 57:15). The Bible can be read or listened to online at

So sorry to hear of the loss of Yvonne, we have know her and her family for a long time, My God be with her kids, family, and friends my he give you the strength to carry on and know she is looking down on you. Yvonne was a good person. She took care of herself and raised two children without help from anyone. I was very proud of this young woman. She overcame many obstacles in her life. May she rest in peace.
