So very sorry to read this. I shared this story not long ago when Dean Sheldon passed. Jim, Dean and my dad were very good friends. One early summer morning, Dad was awakened by a voice shouting, “Hey Dick!” He dragged himself out of bed to the window and there, in the pool, was Jim and Dean, sitting in a boat with fishing poles. They’d been out all night fishing and decided Dad should share in it. They even kindly brought an eel from Lake Michigan and added it to the pool. I thought it was hysterical; Dad, not so much.

He will be missed.

Dear Winnie and Family,

oh my, I was so saddened to read of Jim’s passing. He was a very knowledgeable man, especially when it came to the Elks history. I always enjoyed listening to him talk about past members. He had a wonderful speaking voice and when he gave the Eleventh Hour Toast it was spoken with great sincerity. I do remember he always gave an extra toast; “The Jolly Coachman’s Toast”. Please know that he is a special Angel in Heaven watching over you! I am sure he is celebrating with all of the other Elk’s members who are there with him!

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing.

my sincere condolences.

Where did the years go?

Those carefree days when we were young and without cares? The world was ours to discover; no challenge to great. Then too soon the days are no more-The years have passed and little time remains. Now after the tears have dried and the good byes have been said all we have to hold onto are the memories- Happy Memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed. This keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds They will continue to live on thru us. Memories of good time spent with Jim & Winnie will always have a special place in our hearts!

To Winnie and Family.

Please know that we are thinking of all of you at this very, very sad time in your lives. It is so hard to lose a parent. We always enjoyed Jim so much when we were active at the Otsego Elks many years ago. We are sending a lot of sympathy and caring thoughts your way. We will not be able to be at Jim’s memorial service, but we sure will be thinking about you. May your special memories help to guide you through the days, weeks, and months ahead. Take care now.
