What a honor to have known Bill Pickett aka Poppa Smurf too us. He always welcomed everyone with his open and loving arms. His wife and family were the light if his life. His friends were God’s bonus as well his wonderful life. Poppa Smurf had a way of making everyone feel like family. He truly was a great example of a PROUD VETERAN…Thank you for teaching all of us Bill Pickett how to live with pride, hope and without judgment. Even through the loss of his Cassie he inspired so many others by mentoring and teaching us how to go on after we to have suffered the loss of a love one. We are better people for knowing him and we will miss him. Alice the sunshine of his life…Thank you for sharing him with us at the lake. Love, hugs and prayers to each and all who will miss this man. This we know he would tell us all…Life will go on…find the good in the day and HANG ON TO IT! And this our friend we shall do…We will hang on to the memories of you and your loving soul.

To Alice, her family, and the Schnable Lake family … I am so sad to hear about Bill. He and Alice were so kind, especially when my husband passed away at the lake. Dave enjoyed toodling around on his old golf cart, and stopped by Bill’s to gossip practically every day. He will be missed by his family, as well as at the lake. The LaFountains (Bruce & Lynda) here in Zephyrhills Florida also send their condolences.
