William G Menck Jr.

Bill passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, in Arcadia Florida. 

He was born December 23, 1938, in Kalamazoo Michigan, the son of William Sr. and Edith (Savage) Menck.  Bill graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1957 and for most of his life worked as a truck driver for Graff Trucking. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and trucks, model airplanes and collecting diecast cars. 

Bill liked spending his winters in Florida where he loved socializing and riding his 3-wheeled bike. He was a member of the Trowbridge Methodist Church, the Kalamazoo District Office of the United Methodist Church and was a SPRC chair. On April 12, 1958, at the Stockbridge Methodist Church in Kalamazoo, he married Shirley George who passed away in 2021. 

Surviving are his children, Kenneth (Carol) Menck of Otsego, Michigan, Douglas (Suzy) Menck of Florida and Brenda (Gayla) Menck of Washington; 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Elisa, Daniel and Jacob; siblings, Sharon Cubitt, Janene Fitzpatrick, Karen Schuemann and Jerry Menck along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, and siblings James Menck, Tom Menck, Sue Miller and Kathy Fesenden. According to his wishes cremation has taken place.  

Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 5-7 PM, Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 11, 2024, with celebrant Nyla Merrill officiating. 

Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
