William B. Preston

William B. Preston of Alamo Township passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 in Kalamazoo. Bill was born December 2, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of John and Zita (Geran) Preston. He was a Veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy. He was employed with Parchment Paper mill for many years and for 53 years he was employed at the Alamo Nursing Home. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed doing yard work, mowing, watching Ohio State football and loved spending time with his family. On July 29, 1950 in Otsego, he married Catherine Enos, who survives. Also surviving are 1 daughter and 2 sons, Patricia (Frank) Perry of Kalamazoo, Donald Preston of Gobles and James Preston of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren, Lynann, Quinn, Melissa, Vaughn and Whitney; 7 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathan, Jacob, Yasmine, Kiah, Samiya and Brennan; his mother-in-law, Fern Enos. Friends may meet with his family from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 P. M., Pastor Gregory Yarworth officiating. Military honors by VFW Post #3030 will be at Alamo Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alamo Nursing Home.
