Walt passed away, Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Butterfly Oasis in Kalamazoo.
He was born May 28, 1945, the son of Otis and Katherine (Fuller) Brazee. Walt graduated from Otsego High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1971. He worked at Gibson Guitar and was a pipefitter and fireman for Upjohn until his retirement. Walt was also a volunteer fireman for the Cooper Township Fire Department for many years.
In his free time Walt loved to play golf and watch western movies, especially anything starring John Wayne. He liked following sports, working in his yard and woodworking with his wife, Judy. In the early 70’s Walt married Mary Ann Hall. Although their marriage ended in divorce, they spent 15 years together and had two sons. On April 6, 1996, he married Judith Thompson who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Andrew (Jennifer) Brazee of Tennessee and Ryan Brazee of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Thomas, Jackson and Luke; stepson, John (Mary) Caswell of Cooper Township; step-grandchildren, Johnathan and Kari; step-great-grandchildren, Dillon, Lucas, Scarlett and Savannah and brother, Kenneth (Kate) Brazee of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leland Brazee and sister, Mary Lou Sumner.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial service and burial of ashes at Fort Custer National Cemetery will take place in the spring.
