W.A. Vaughn

W.A. ‘Dub’ Vaughn of Plainwell, MI passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at his home. Mr. Vaughn was born July 11, 1942 in Earle, AR, the son of William Earl and Minnie Lou (Ingle) Vaughn. Dub enjoyed making birdhouses and watching bullriding. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 324. He started at Reith – Riley Construction in Grand Rapids and in Kalamazoo retiring after 30 years, and he enjoyed his co-workers and his work. In 1995, he and his wife moved back to Arkansas and he worked for APAC Construction in Memphis, TN, retiring from there after 7 years. On November 25, 1961 in Tyronza, AR, he married Wilma Ann White, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Joanne (Cam) Sankatsing of Plainwell, MI; his sister, Linda Kay (Gene) Ivy of AR; his Aunt Rachel Young; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Vaughn and his step-father Grover Loudermilk. Friends may meet the family Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home

Otsego, MI where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Gwen Hooker officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell, MI. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
