Verna Louallen

Verna M. Louallen of Otsego, Michigan, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at her home. Verna was born February 14, 1935, in Pullman to Robert and

Irene (Finn)

Burrows.

She had been a member of Bitely Community Church for many years. As a young girl she had helped at the Fly Inn Restaurant in Plainwell and then was employed with Plainwell Sanitarium from the age of 17 until it closed. Following her work there, she worked at Golden Pizza, also worked in the psychiatric ward at Borgess Hospital in the early 70s and ended her career working on her farm in Otsego.

Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Dunklee of Otsego; four grandsons, Richard (Jamie) Dunklee, Matthew (Jammie) Dunklee, Nathan (Jamie) Dunklee and Timothy Dunklee, all of Otsego; nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Robert (Carol) Burrows of AZ, Richard Seekman of AZ, Stanley Seekman of Otsego, Mary Ann Schiero of Otsego, Karen (Jack) Campbell of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Carol Seekman of Otsego; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Earl Seekman; an infant son, Walter Earl Louallen; her first husband, Bart Louallen; sister,

; brothers, Rusty Seekman and

Daniel Seekman

; brother-in-law, Joseph Pirrone; sister-in-law, Rene Seekman and her son-in-law, Vern Dunklee.

Friends may meet with her family at the

Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego

, from 11 AM Wednesday, May 21, 2014 until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon, Wings of Hope Chaplain, Greg Carlson, officiating. Burial at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell will take place later.
