Walker Conley Toddy Jr., 64, of Trumann, Arkansas, passed away on March 5, 2025.
A man of unwavering loyalty, quick wit, and a heart full of love, Walker left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A proud Marine Corps veteran, Walker served his country with dedication for 20 years. His strong work ethic and commitment to service continued in his second career at Plainwell Community Schools, where he spent another 20 years making a difference in the lives of others. In addition to his work at the schools, he ran his own drywall business, using his craftsmanship and dedication to help countless families and businesses.
Outside of work, Walker embraced life with passion. He loved camping with his family, working with his hands in carpentry, cruising on his motorcycle, and playing card and board games with loved ones. He had a sharp mind, a sense of humor that could brighten any room, and a catchphrase for every occasion.
His love for his family was fierce and unwavering—his presence was a source of strength, laughter, and endless wisdom. Walker is survived by his beloved wife, Terry Toddy; his children, Olivia Toddy and Hunter Strope (Jeremiah Strope); his cherished grandson, Aizen Kaleward; and an eagerly awaited grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Garthe; his sisters, LaDonna Edick (Mark Edick) and Karen Robison (Lynn Robison); as well as many nieces and nephews who he adored. His memory will be cherished by extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Toddy and stepfather, Donald Garthe. Semper Fi, Walker. You will be deeply missed.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Walker may be directed to Mayo Clinic to support neuroscience research or to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.
