Tiffany Ann Jones passed away unexpectedly with her spouse Josh by her side on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in Bloomington, IL.
Tiff was born on June 3, 1975, in Petoskey, MI. She is the daughter of Roderick V. III and Christy (Opper) Jones. She graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1993 and attended Ferris State University and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
After college Tiff returned to Cheboygan to join in the family business at Jones City Garage. She worked at Sparetime Lanes, Cheboygan Area Schools (Inverness) with the special needs program, and Ormsbee Implement Co. in Afton. Then she went on to work at PNC Bank in Northern Michigan at three different branches (Cheboygan, Petoskey & Mackinaw) and filled in at several other areas branches as a teller and consumer banker. She transferred to Bloomington, IL East College branch in 2014.
Tiff had a heart of gold. Her infectious laugh and endless smile could only be topped by her selflessness and genuine care for everyone she met. She cared so deeply for her family, friends, co-workers and community. She volunteered with many organizations over the years in Cheboygan including the Kiwanis Club and the Jaycees as the V.P. of many areas then becoming the president and chairing projects. Some of her favorites were Christmas Wishlist, Haunted Corn Maze, Easter Egg Hunt, Kids Day, Jaycees Bowling Tournament, Jaycees Scholarship and Wanigan Festival. She was integral in signing up a lot of new members to the Jaycees and involving nonmembers who still just wanted to help the cause (Friends of the Jaycees). She was also involved with Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington and the WUMC GEMS moms group participation brought her much love, comfort and joy.
Tiff was an inspiration to many and was always there to listen and give advice without judgment. Always up for an adventure, Tiff’s love for Foot beach as a young child carried on as she shared those adventures with her own kids. Tiff loved traveling and had just completed a trip to Europe with her son Jaidyn in June. Tiff’s list of talents is endless…she enjoyed playing and coaching soccer and was a skilled bowler and coached bowling.
She spent her last days doing crafts as she found solace when she was making things for others. She had a real love and passion decorating for her favorite holidays Christmas and Halloween. She enjoyed carving pumpkins with the kids and during Easter Tiff would have an annual egg hunt at home for the kids and decorate eggs. Tiff’s true passion was for her family. Whether it was snuggling on the couch watching old movies and horror movies with Jaidyn or a trip to the resale shop, record. or coin stores, cooking or a comedy show or movie with Keaghan, snuggling, crafting or cooking with Chailoh or preparing a meal with Josh at Ormsbee Oasis and Backyard Eatery. Tiff enjoyed family meals out at restaurants with the kids or a simple dinner date with Josh.
The love for her family was fierce. Tiff was truly a special person, a one of a kind friend and a true gem. Her absence will be felt by so many who loved her.
Surviving are her spouse of 19 years, Josh Ormsbee; children, Jaidyn(14), Keaghan(12) and Chailoh(4); mother, Christy Opper Jones of Cheboygan; brothers, Roderick V.
