Dr. Suzanne Elaine Wolfe, Ed.D., passed away very peacefully on December 23, 2018, after a short, brave fight with cancer.
Suzanne was born on October 8, 1953, to Lillian and Charles Wolfe, and is survived by her beloved mother, Lily, brother, Chris Wolfe, sister, Lisa Wolfe, and dedicated friend, Dr. Kathy Bailey. Her father, and brother-in-law, Scott Townsend, preceded Suzanne in death.
Suzanne was a brilliant student of psychology, achieving outstanding success at every level as she earned her doctorate at Western Michigan University, continuing to a most dedicated practice in psychotherapy. Her scholarship provided a foundation as a trainer and consultant, both at the state and national level. Her greatest joy was as a practitioner and she counseled her clients with brilliance, patience, and unlimited love and creativity.
Suzanne was deeply committed and involved in social justice issues since the early 1980’s. She was a heroic breast cancer survivor and found great peace in her remarkable gardening activities. Suzanne will be deeply missed by her immediate family, Dr. Kathy Bailey and the Austin and Uber families, Dale Anderson, and by her clients and many other friends.
Contributions may be made in Suzanne’s honor to the Kalamazoo County Humane Society.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Otsego United Methodist Church.
