Stephen A. Alexander

Steve passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home in Allegan.

He was born December 12, 1956 in Kalamazoo, the son of Al and Gail (Morley) Alexander. Steve was a 1975 Portage Northern High School graduate. For 25 years he was a welder for Stryker until his retirement in 2011. Steve was an outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening and cutting wood. More than anything he loved spending time with his family. On October 11, 1975 in Portage he married Laraine Zanardi who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Stephen Alexander of Irons, Craig (Amanda) Alexander of Allegan, Justin Alexander of Irons and Ryan (Jess) Alexander of Otsego; 7 grandchildren; brother, Phil (Cher) Alexander; father-in-law, Robert Zanardi along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Brandon.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 starting at 2:00 P.M., at 1426 106

Steve and I are so sorry for your loss. Big Steve will be missed by so many of us. He was one of the best!! His kind heart, his huge hugs, and his love for family and friends are memories we will hold close. I am sure he is one of the most beautiful Angels and he will always be close.
