Stella M. Waller

Stella passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, surrounded by her family at her home in Otsego.

She was born June 9, 1953 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Josephine (Goldsmith) Veld. Stella was a 1971 Otsego High School graduate and lifelong resident of the area. For 28 years she worked as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until her retirement in 2018.

In her spare time Stella enjoyed fishing, bowling, going on trips with her sisters, camping and people watching at the Allegan County Fair and Sunday morning breakfasts with her church family. She was a member of the Horseshoe Community Church in Grand Junction. Stella was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was happiest when spending time with her family. In 2012 she married Kenneth Waller who passed away in 2020.

Surviving are her children, Robin (Joe Craft) Richardson of Grand Junction, Jennifer (Ken) Knapp of Allegan, Jason (Crystal) Davis of Allegan and Regge (Lane) Haskins of Otsego, Josh Waller of Kalamazoo, Stacey (Pat) Quigley of Martin and Edith (Drew) Waller of Grand Junction; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Benwire, David (Nancy) Veld, Gayle Veld-Sanders, Rhonda Peterson, Garry (Valerie) Veld and Peggy (Rochelle) Brown along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren, Clayton Richardson Jr. and Kasie Richardson and great-grandson, Kashton Knapp.

Friends may visit with Stella’s family from 5-7 PM, Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, and from 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 14, 2022 until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., at the Merson Church in Gobles with Pastor Don Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Lindsley Cemetery.

My dearest family, I am so sorry for your loss today Stella was a marvelous person and very pleasant to be around. She had a beautiful smile that always made you feel loved and warm all over.

I’m glad her pain is over and she’s with everyone there waiting to greet her to the golden gates of Heaven..

To her children I haven’t seen you all in years , I know you will miss her from head to toes but she better now no pain. Just remember all the good she’s ever did for you and your family. Please take my prayers , and hold them tight to your heart. God bless you all!❤️

Sister it still doesn’t seem real. I just THINK about ALL the memories we made & it makes my heart hurt that your not here to make more. I know you both suffered & fought SO hard. I love you Sister!
