Shirley L. Shook
Shirley L. Shook of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Plainwell.
She was born September 11, 1935 in Corning, Arkansas to Tom and Clara Waldon. She worked for Kal Equip and had retired from Stryker. On November 18, 1955 in Plainwell, she married Ramon “Whitey” Shook. Shirley loved spending time at Lake Michigan and Pine Lake, reading, bowling, playing cards, watching the Detroit Lions, working in her yard and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her husband and her family very much.
Surviving are a son and a daughter, Ramon Shook and Renee (Kevin) Vaughn, both of Plainwell; four grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Shook, Mark (Kelly McDaniel) Shook, James Vaughn and Shelby Vaughn; three great-grandchildren, Kobe, Ava and Ella Shook and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Gerry and Bill Waldon, Mary Lou Woody, Jane Sparks-Munson and Lavina Mann.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends may meet with Shirley’s family Monday, January 12, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego where a Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Dan Miner officiating.
