Sherman G. Potter

Sherman passed away, Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his home in Alamo Township.

He was born April 17, 1934 in Neon, Kentucky, the son of Sherman and Thursie (Akers) Potter. Sherman had worked at Shakespeare Company for 10 years, Eaton Transmission for 18 years and at Woodwork Specialties for 13 years until his retirement.

In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, hunting and spending time with his family.

On June 28, 1954 in Kalamazoo he married Onalee Ordiway who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Sherman (Vanessa) Potter, Dawn Potter-Williams and Kenneth Potter; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and siblings, Tom Potter and Phyllis Duty.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Cecil, Joe, Anderson, Clifford, Jack, Mabel and Elia.

Friends may visit with Sherman’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Ray Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at Alamo Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Sherman may be made to

Reverence Hospice

or to the charity of your choice.

Steve, Julie, Brock and Nolan,

I am sorry for your loss. I remember your Dad/Grandfather was a huge fan of his family. He love his grandsons and watching them compete in sports. I am sure you will miss him. Prayers for you and your family.
