Ruth Cottrell

Ruth Cottrell of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Cottrell was born May 15, 1924 in Otter Lake, MI, the daughter of Ernest and Blanche (Burns) West.

Surviving are a son, Richard (Marilyn) Cottrell of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Scott Cottrell, Lindsey (Kevin) Hogan and Stephen Hill; a sister, Ada (Bill) Hoard of Otter Lake; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merton Cottrell in 1997; her daughter, Devota Rae Hill in 2009; two brothers and two sisters, Floyd West, Leo West, Doreen Jenkins and Winifred Traver.

The family would like to thank Park Place Assisted Living and Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate care given to Ruth.

Burial in Deerfield Township Cemetery, Otter Lake, has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
