For Russ’s family, I want you to know I feel so honored and blessed to have been able to spend time with all of you at the parade Memorial Day and to have such wonderful conversations with all of you. I knew Russ was tired but we sure had a great time reminiscing about our work at James River and the people we knew and worked with and his years he served as the president of our union. I pray he is resting in peace and celebrating with his family and friends on the other side. Thank You for your service to our country and our union Russ! Now go forth and be well!

Russ was well liked at post 84 and he enjoyed being a Post 84 member and coming to the morning breakfast and coffee clutch. Russ served during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army and he was proud of his service. Post 84 was able to make sure he could go on the Talon’s Out Honor Flight to Washington D.C. There he got to see the many veterans memorials and also the Korean War Memorial. Russ had a day of being treated like a hero and a great welcome back to Kalamazoo at Wings Stadium by hundreds of people afterwards. May GOD hold you near my friend. Till We Meet Again. Dave Delemme Allegan County Commander for the Department of the Michigan American Legion. .
