Russell “Russ” Button of Plainwell, Michigan went home to be with his Lord on

. Russ was born August 22, 1934 in Otsego to Coral and Grace (Chapman) Button and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He had been employed as a process engineer with Parker Hannifin – Brass Division, retiring in 1996 after 36 years. Russ was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hobby trains, garage sales, croquet, his cottage on
Miner
Lake
, golf and softball. On
June 10, 1989
in Otsego he married Karen Barthel Dobbins, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Randy (Linda) Button of Portage; two step-children, Lauren (Rob) Chase of Allegan and Joshua Dobbins of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Eli, Aaron and Katelyn; two sisters, Lois Chandler of Grand Rapids and Helen (Harry) Waldron of Otsego; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Barbara Newman Button, in 1983; a brother, Lawrence Button; two sisters, June O’Reilly and Clara Stowell. Friends may meet with his family from

8 P.M.
Friday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where funeral services will be held at
11:00 A.M.
Saturday, Pastor Joe Shaler officiating. Burial will follow at
Hillside
Cemetery
, Plainwell. Contributions in memory of Russ may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
