Roy E. Ellison

Roy passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

He was born February 7, 1933 in Trowbridge Township, the son of Everett and Lillie (VanCamp) Ellison. Roy worked at BASF in Holland for 40 years until his retirement. In his free time Roy enjoyed collecting antiques, working on clocks and shopping with his wife. He was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Center in Plainwell.

Surviving are his wife, Meriam; daughter, Chris (Larry) Bolhuis of Galesburg; step-children, Steve (Charleen) Wooten of Plainwell and Rita (David) Wooten-Meyers of Battle Creek; granddaughter, Emily; step-grandchildren, Chris and Steven and step-great-grandchildren, Ellie, Bella and Marissa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lucy; step-granddaughter, Melissa and by his siblings.

Friends may visit with Roy’s family starting at 10 AM, Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Steve Wooten officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Allegan.

Contributions in memory of Roy may be made to Cornerstone Christian Center of Plainwell.

You will be in our prayers today, tomorrow and the coming days. Roy was a wonderful happy soul. My memories of him waving “hello”, to his singing. His love for bird watching out your back windows. May he Rest In Peace.
