assed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at her home with her family by her side. Roxie was born August 14, 1919, in Otsego, the daughter of Prentice and Edna (Baumgardner) Stowell. For many years she was employed with Shakespeare and then with the Upjohn Co. Roxie had attended both the Otsego and the Allegan Churches of God and had taught Sunday School. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, painting, bird watching and cooking. On March 14, 1952, she married Arend Bos, who died in 1997. Also preceding her in death were 2 step-children, Roger Bos and Norma McElwain; 2 brothers, Fred and Lloyd Stowell; sister Olive Wimberly; sons-in-law, Paul Pearson, Mike Grauman, Ron McElwain & Gary Stetten. In May of 1998, she married Raymond Ellis, who survives. Also surviving are 4 daughters, Charlene (Larry) Large of Hoffman, Texas, Becky (Stan) Bowlby of Otsego, Reva Pearson of Otsego and Marjorie Martin of Otsego; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Eileen Thompson, Ruth (Cecil) Winterowd, Phillip (Barbara) Ellis and Gary Ellis; many nieces and nephews; dear family friend Janet McClelland. Friends may meet the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at
Winkel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Otsego Church of God, Pastor Stephen J. Burrow officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo in the spring. Contributions in memory of Roxie may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Otsego Church of God.
