Rose Mary Hockett

Rose Mary (Augustine) Hockett of Otsego passed away Monday, November 27, 2006 in Allegan. Rosemary was born January 2, 1925 to Tom and Sophia (Shagonabe) Peters. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Jesse and Martha Scofield. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Otsego where she was a Sunday school teacher, Secretary/Treasurer of her True Blue Class and helped with Awana. Rosemary is survived by a daughter Linda Sherwood of Plainwell, 2 sons Ronald (Marla) Augustine of Plainwell and Richard (Toni) Augustine of Allegan. She is also survived by special sisters-in-law Betty (Bob) Barber, Ruth Barber, Marie Hayes and Betty Augustine; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews and relatives in the U.P. and the Ann Arbor area. Preceding Rosemary in death were husbands, Bud Augustine and Orville Hockett; son-in-law Bud Sherwood; 2 grandsons and her Uncle George Shagonabe. Friends may meet the family from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego where services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday with Rev. Tom Boland officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice.
