Ronald “John” Moerman, affectionately known as Johnny or Ron John, passed away, Monday, March 17, 2025, just a day before his 50th birthday, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born on March 18, 1975, in Kalamazoo, to Ronald and Joyce (VanSweden) Moerman. John graduated from Plainwell High School in 1993 and attended Michigan State University and Ferris State University.
John lived a rich and fulfilling life, marked by devotion to his career and deep passion for the things he loved. He worked diligently throughout his career, sharing his enthusiasm for farming at Petro Farms and Drozd Farms. His commitment to excellence led him to a position at Perrigo, and for the last five years, he served as a dedicated supervisor at Pfizer. His work ethic was testament to his character—always striving for success while helping those around him.
Outside of work, John's heart was firmly rooted in the love for his family and the joys of life. He cherished every moment spent farming, golfing, and barbecuing with friends and family. Those closest to him knew that his laughter was infectious, and his ability to bring people together was unmatched. He made every gathering special with his warm spirit and generous nature. On October 23, 2021, in Paw Paw, he married Amy Showerman who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kayla Bailey, Haven Moerman and Zachary Moerman; siblings, Michelle (Steve) Meert and Laura (Steve) Garza along with several nieces and nephews.
