Ronald Lee O’Dell

Ronald Lee O’Dell of Key West, FL (formerly of Kalamazoo, Michigan) passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Ronald was born June 17, 1950 in Muskegon, MI, the son of Russell R. and Joyce D. (Ritter) O’Dell. In 1968 he graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Marines and retired in 1991 from the U.S. Navy. Ron was currently employed as an Information Technology Specialist for the M.W.R. Department at the Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida. He enjoyed fishing in the Gulf. He was a member and Elder at the West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Millington, TN and attended the Key West United Methodist Church. On June 28, 1996 in Covington, TN he married Nancy L. Beck, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters and one son, Mary (Mike) Campbell, Kimberly A. O’Dell, Russell R. (Suzette) O’Dell II (currently serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq) and Melissa M. O’Dell; three step-children, Sarah B. (Jon) Buchanan, Justin D. Beck and Cody A. Beck; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; his mother, Joyce O’Dell; brothers and sisters, Darlene J. (Mike) Holesek, Michael R. (Jackie) O’Dell, Kathy A. Sackett and David A. (Rhonda) O’Dell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Russell M. O’Dell. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, MI with Pastor Joe Shaler officiating. A second Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 4

at 1:00 P.M. at the West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Millington, TN., Pastor James Hamblin officiating. Contributions in memory of Ron may be made to the American Red Cross, South Florida Region, Key West Chapter.
