, to Arthur Jr. and Annabelle (Fisher) Evans at their home. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from

Purdue

University

and taught Vocational Agriculture and Chemistry for 1½ years at

Edmore

High School

. For 32 years he was employed by the Upjohn Co. in Animal Research, retiring

April 1, 1999

. Roger was a member of the Martin Lions Club and served 20 years on the Martin School Board. He was co-chair for Bear Lake Camp for visually and hearing impaired children and a member of Allegan County Habitat for Humanity. His passion was farming. He raised shorthorn cattle in partnership with his very good friend, Royal Boulter. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching their extra curricular activities. On

he married Betty (Walter) who survives. Also surviving are their children, Mike (Julie) Evans, Patti (Eric) Rohloff, Cindi (Matt) Williams and Kendra (Randy) Hunt; grandchildren, Patrick, Emily and Nicholas Evans, Blade, Logan, Brock and Holden Rohloff, Tyler (Sandy) Evans, Bailey, Caleb, Addison Williams, Ryan, Lauren and Payton Hunt; 2 great-grandchildren, Taryn and Jayce Evans; his mother, Annabelle Evans of Nappanee, IN; three brothers, Phillip Evans of Muncie, IN, Tom (Elaine) Evans of Avon, IN and Dallas (Sharon) Evans of Indianapolis; a sister, Vonda (Bob) Bedward of Nappanee, IN; a brother-in-law, Everett Fought of Goshen, IN; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Evans of Nappanee, IN and Kathy Jo Onak of North Aurora, IL; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Jim Evans; a sister, Dianna (Evans) Fought; and in-laws, Donald and Grace Walter. Friends may meet with the family from 1 to 3 and

6 to 8 P.M.

Sunday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. Funeral Services will be held at

11:00 A.M.

Monday at the

Martin

United

Methodist

Church

, Pastor David Selleck officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial of ashes at

South

Martin

Cemetery

. Contributions in memory of Roger may be made to the Martin Public School Education Foundation or the American Melanoma Foundation.
