Robert P. Lester

Bob passed away, Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home in Plainwell. 

He was born February 25, 1941, in Kalamazoo, the son of Francis and Grace (Mennes) Lester. For 24 years Bob was an inspector for Checker Motors until his retirement. 

Bob was an avid collector and had an extensive collection of model airplanes, trains and cars. He enjoyed antique cars and was proud of rebuilding a Ford Model A. In 1978 he married Darlene Rockburn who survives. 

Also surviving are his children, Tammy Remar of Alaska; Glenda Pillars of Martin, Pam (Jim) King of Plainwell and Chris Hamelink of Plainwell; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Tony and brother, Clayton (Annie) Lester. 

According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
