Robert E. Koster

Bob passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Allegan. 

He was born November 6, 1929, in Frankfort, IN the son of Harry and Thelma (Davidson) Koster. Bob proudly served his country in the US Army. Bob worked for Kalamazoo Paper company for 18 years and then 18 years for the Allegan County Road Commission retiring in 1990. 

In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. Bob was a member of the Lions Club and American Legion Post 84. On December 3, 1950, in Frankfort, IN he married Marilyn Brandon who survives. 

Also surviving are his children, Pamela (Robert) Campbell of Harrison, Stephanie Koster of Plainwell and Jeffrey (Michelle) Koster of Allegan, 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister Patsy Israel of WI and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; great grandsons Robert and Kyle and brother Clarence “Bud” Koster. 

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, Plainwell, with Rev. Dr. Ruth Lowry officiating. 

A private family burial of ashes will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
