Robert J. Lovett

Robert J. Lovett of Otsego, Michigan, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Lovett was born September 6, 1926 in Otsego to John and Grace (Stratton) Lovett. He was a 1944 graduate of Otsego High School and a Navy Veteran of World War II. For 23 years Bob was employed with Sears, retiring in 1987. Bob was very proud of his grandchildren. He enjoyed being out of doors, bird watching and fishing. For the 13 years they spent in Florida, he enjoyed the fishing on Lake Okeechobee.

On June 13, 1945 he married Lucille Wuis who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Sue (Larry) Martin and Sally (Medford) Starr both of Otsego;

4 grandchildren, Cherie (George) Owens, Ginger Foster, Kasey (Keith) Cogar, Todd (Anna) Starr; 9 great grandchildren, Kelsey, Jordan, Tyler, Justin, Jacob, Colin, Grace, Matthew & Lucas;1 brother,

Lewis

(Gladys) Lovett; 2 sisters-in-law, Margaret Lovett and Virginia Lovett; a brother-in-law, Morris Wuis; several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Calvin, Charles and Carl; 2 great granddaughters, Madeline and Kelly Cogar. Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of Otsego with Pastor Joe Shaler and Pastor Dan Minor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otsego United Methodist Church stained glass window restoration fund.
