Ricky Lee Banks of Plainwell (formerly of Otsego) passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, November 27, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Ricky was born March 14, 1956 in Kalamazoo, the son of Gerald and Marlene (VanSparrentak) Banks. He graduated from Otsego High School in 1974 and had worked for Parker-Hannifin for 11 years and for several area heating

and cooling contractors. Rick loved to garden, hunt, fish and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed helping others. Surviving are his daughter, Cassie Banks; his mother, Marlene Banks; 2 brothers

and 3 sisters, Terry (Patti) Banks, Todd (Chris) Banks, Deborah (Steven) Boyer, Sheryl (Jeff) Pirrone, Sherry (Tom) Manning; several nieces and nephews; Cassie’s mother, Mary Frederick. His father preceded him in death in 2004. A memorial service will be held at the Church of God, 112 Kalamazoo St., Otsego on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Stephen J. Burrow officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his family for funeral expenses. Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.
