Richard E. Cook
Rich passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
He was born June 30, 1977 in Kalamazoo the son of Barry and Cindy (Sage) Cook. Rich was kind hearted, a great friend and a wonderful father. He enjoyed basketball, golf, softball and University of Michigan Football. More than anything Rich loved his daughter and spending time with her.
Surviving are his daughter, Meara Cook of Delton, sisters, Amanda and Angie Cook; aunts, Vickie (Bill) Erwin, Becky (Randy) Feathers and Sally Ford along with several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Friends may visit with Rich’s family starting at 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 P.M., with Pastor Ray Brandon officiating.
Cremation will follow.
Contributions in memory of Rich may be made to the
American Heart Association

I was very sad to hear about Rich’s passing. I’ve known Rich for over 15 years and was lucky to call him my friend. He was also close with my son Alex, and even taught him how to weld. Rich was a skilled tradesman, a fun member of our team, and most important an all around great guy. He will be greatly missed by all.

To my classmate, my teammate, my friend – I was extremely saddened by the news that god had to give you your angel wings today. While it isn’t up to any of us to question his reasoning as to “why”, I can’t help but wonder “why you?” This question will undoubtably bother many of us in the days, weeks and years to come. Doesn’t seem fair. You were such a great guy, great friend and great father. The world deserves more “Weasel’s” on this planet like you. May you forever swish all your shots, pitch unlimited no hitters, and hit long homeruns up there. Whenever I hear someone mention UofM, I’ll think of you. Thank you for being in my life. I’ll never forget you Rich. Fly high my friend and may you forever Rest In Peace.

Rich was a vital portion of our maintenance team. His many years of experience and loyalty to the Company and his coworkers will surely be missed. He was a true professional. He took great pride in his work and was always there to support others when needed. Rich was a family man and very dedicated father. Our condolences go out to his family.

Richard was my cousin, my friend, a wonderful Father and a very talented fabricator. He had a vision for scrap metal, He could look at anything and find a very creative way to use it. He loved Baseball, Basketball, Country music and appreciated friendship’s. Richard will be missed by myself and many other’s. Thank you for all the memories!

I am shocked as anyone to hear of Rich’s passing. I have worked with Rich for the past 24 years and have always respected him as a person who cares about the quality of work he does. He was a talented tradesman and a great all around person. Rich was always ready to help whenever anyone needed a hand. He had a quite demeanor, but ready to laugh. He made a mark on me and will not soon forget him. May you rest in peace Rich.
