Renee Hatten Sutherland died Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Renee was born September 30, 1953 in Allegan, Michigan to Wilbur and Alice (Holloway) Hatten. She was a cook for many years at Pine Lake Diner. Although she was a little scared of motorcycles, a friend convinced her to ride on the back of his Harley. After that experience, she loved Harley’s and enjoyed when someone would offer her a ride. She painted ceramics in her free time and did not like to miss an episode of General Hospital on the TV. Renee will be missed by her family, friends and by her little dogs Molly, Toby and Dolly.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Stacie) Sutherland; T.J. Sutherland Jr., Michael Sutherland, Kevin Sutherland and Matthew Sutherland all of Allegan, and Connie (Art) Keller of Three Rivers; siblings, Richard Hatten of Delton, Theresa Hatten of Delton, Mary (Doc) McDole of Tennessee, Michael Hatten of Delton and twins Kevin and Karen Applegren of Kalamazoo, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her baby daughter Mary Sue, brother Bobby and by her former husband and lifelong companion, Tom Sutherland Sr.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Renee was a good woman and will be missed by many. She never hesitated to give me a home when I didn’t have one and treated as if I was her own! I know she loved her family and my heart goes out to you all . …. just know that she touched many hearts and will not be forgotten!
