Few men are as kind, committed to his family and friends, reliable, of great integrity, as Randy Lober. Few men have I had more respect for from the time we were childrenr through all these years. There is a huge hole in our hearts. I am envisioning the joyful reunion in heaven this week. I hope our loved ones are enjoying a great game of golf on the heavenly course.

Mary——Kirby and I are grieving for you and the family. Randy lived his life with honesty, honor and integrity—a truly good man. I always joked that he was my favorite brother-in-law—and he had NOT been my brother-in-law for over four decades.
Once Randy retired, not being one to allow grass to grow under his feet , he began working for me part time. I quickly came to depend on him and he was instrumental in keeping me in business my last few years. His memory will always be a blessing to both of us.

Randy and I grew up together as he lived on Grant Street and I lived on West Orleans. Randy and I, along with several of the other boys in our neighborhood had a lot of fun together. He lived next to what used to be Sugar Bowl “Hill”, before it was totally filled in and where we used to go sledding during the winter months. Our heart felt sympathy, along with our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Rest In Peace, my friend.

Mary, we have become so close in this last year and yet there still are no words I can say that will make this better for you. Randy was so good to Duke and I will never forget that. I wish I could have done more for him. I hope Duke was waiting for him with a bag of golf clubs and they are doing what they both loved to do! Rest In Peace Randy, we will miss you!

Mary,
please take some measure of solace knowing Randy sits at the feet of our Lord and savior, and he has touched the face of God. Randy was one of the kindest, most thoughtful men I have ever known, while retaining a wit with that Randy smile.
We all will have a hole in our hearts for the rest of our days, but nothing compared to the loss you must feel after 50 years of marriage to Randy. Watching the unwavering commitment and love you two had for one another remains a comfort to the rest of us knowing you could not have been more loved and cherished then you are by Randy. May the Good Lord watch over you in the coming days and provide his loving comfort to your heart and soul.

Loved it when cousins Randy and Mary (and Champ, Scout, and Toby) came to visit us when we were younger – he and my Dad would talk about their “good old days”, running the roads, raising heck at the Cooper Tavern…They never gave specifics, just exchanged those mischievous glances!
They just don’t make guys like Randy anymore – proud, full of honor and integrity – the same stubborn “Lober blood” that runs through my Dad. The world needs more Randy Lobers!
We will miss you, cousin Randy!

We were blessed to have known Randy since 1989. I was especially honored to have taken him to his last Tigers game, on September 26, 2019. It was truly a golden, fall day with Randy. And, yes, he absolutely insisted on driving both ways, and he handled Detroit traffic like the true pro he was. We are so glad to have known you, Randy.

Mary, I didn’t know Randy that well personally, however, I knew him through you! In all the years we knew each other at work and the years since, I have never heard a unkind word spoken about your husband! You were always loyal, kind and loving toward him!! You chose well all those years ago and he did too!! Love you, my friend

Mary, I am very saddened to hear of Randy’s passing. He was always such a gentleman and a good friend. The class of ’68 has lost too many great people far too early. We really enjoyed seeing you both at the 50th class reunion and going out for breakfast the following morning. I know you have so many wonderful memories. Keep those memories close! He is now a wonderful Angel!

Known Randy for years……sometimes called him Randy, sometimes Floyd….
And occasionally Lober…..one night after a few beers I called him Flober. It stuck with him…we all had a chuckle.
We had many common interests and made lots of memories thru the years…
Randy, you will not be forgotten….

Randy’s family- sorry to hear of the passing of Randy. I coached Randy in football and he was a hard worker and an excellent teammate. Randy was one of my favorite players and a super person. My last contact with Randy was on the golf course when I had the pleasure of spending the day riding with him in the same golf cart, it was a great day. Randy will be missed.

Mary, can’t tell you the heartbreak knowing that Randy is no longer with us. He was probably was the most honest, kind and caring person that I have ever known. He always told me that he was so blessed to have such good friends. That fact was that that we were surely the ones blessed to have him as a friend. He is truly my brother from another mother. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
