Phyllis “Tootie” Guthrie

Phyllis J. ‘Tootie’ Guthrie of Otsego, Michigan passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. Phyllis was born May 9, 1943 in Reynoldsville, PA, the daughter of William Clair and Kathryn (Martin) Guthrie. She had been employed at Parker Hannifin in Otsego and in Richland, retiring after more than 30 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed reading, handheld games, working crossword puzzles and she followed the Detroit Lions. She is survived by her sister, Luella Eshbaugh of Otsego and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman ‘Pudge’ Guthrie.

Cremation has taken place and no public services are being planned at this time.

There are so many wonderful memories of Tootie that I will always hold close to heart. She was the loving quirky aunt that made life fun. She had such a great sense of humor that always produced a smile & laugh from those around her. It was also this quality that provoked others to play good natured tricks on her (of which her nephew Brad was often the culprit)! Life was never dull with Tootie around & I will miss her dearly. My love, hugs, thoughts & prayers are with her family and friends today & many days beyond. May you rest in peace Aunt Toot…& place nice with the other angels surrounding you!

I worked with tootie at Parker for 25 years she was a dear caring person with a heart of gold. Always there to help.. She will be remembered with many wonderful thoughts. So sorry for your loss. You will be in my prayers.
