Phyllis A. Ploszaj
Phyllis passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 surrounded by her family at her home in Allegan.
She was born February 13, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Anthony and Harriett (Ciezynski) Maluchnik. Phyllis spent her early adult years working in Chicago at Marshall Fields and Joslyn Manufacturing, a street light manufacturing company.
Phyllis was hard working and had raised her daughters as a single mother. She was a skilled artist and liked sketching, pencil art and portrait painting. Phyllis enjoyed music and could play by ear. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose in Illinois and enjoyed country western and ballroom dancing there. Phyllis was proud of learning to drive a stick shift car when she was 36 years old.
On November 22, 1980 she married Joseph Ploszaj who passed away in 2007.
Phyllis was a very dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her children, Jean (Ken) Feddern of Illinois and Sherry (Don) Norman of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Nicole (David) Hillborn, Don Norman Jr., Jason (Penny) Feddern, Ron (Krystal) Jordan and Christopher (Tosha) Jordan; 13 great-grandchildren, Krystina, Lexi, Andie, Jerrie, Hannah, Camryn, Jackson, Dominic, Aria, Bodhi, Steve, Justin and Maria and 1 great-great-grandchild, Samson and 2 more due soon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph and by her siblings, Virginia, Pat and Leonard.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
Contributions in memory of Phyllis may be made to the
American Cancer Society.
