Penny
Penny L. Goodacre
Penny went to be with her Lord and Savior suddenly on May 13, 2015.
Penny was born August 29, 1954 in Kalamazoo; the daughter of Donald and Georgia Young. A 1972 graduate of Otsego High School, Penny enjoyed reading mystery novels, had a passion for sewing, working crossword puzzles and gardening. She loved her first winter in Florida riding bikes and walking along the beach with the love of her life. On October 4, 1975, Penny married her high-school sweetheart Robert Goodacre who survives.
Penny is also survived by her daughters Vanessa (Steve) Sawyer and Nicole (John) Wagner, her mother Georgia Young, her sisters and brother Susan Keyzer, Nancy Corradini, Theresa Summers, Ronald (Ruth) Young, Amy (Brian) Tetreault-Blok, 3 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Penny was reunited with her loving father Donald, mother-in-law Phyllis, father-in-law Robert Sr., and brothers-in-law Gary Keyzer, Sonny Fairfield, Dennis Corradini, John Summers and Shawn Tetreault, who preceded her in death.
Penny was a kind-hearted, passionate, loving wife and mother who always put her family first. Her loved ones fondly remember celebrating many holidays in her home, her meticulously hand-crafted baby clothes, and the unconditional love for her mother amongst many others.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 17
th
at 1p.m. at the Otsego Moose Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be accepted at the Otsego Moose Lodge 345 or VFW Post 3030, Otsego, MI.

Penny, I remember being a young girl of the age of 14, when I meet you. You instantly became someone I loved and cared for with all of my heart. Never do we understand when someone we love has been taken from our family without preparing us with an understanding of peace, faith and no hurting….this is absolutely shocking and very sad! Penny, I remember being a young girl of the age of 14, when I meet you. You instantly became someone I loved and cared for with all of my heart. I remember looking up to you, because you we’re so smart and friendly person. Oh how admired your ability to be a great person, wife and mother. Your talents and energy was completely graceful. Bob, Vanessa and Nicci -Penny blessed so many lives and so many ways. I will always remember my good times with her in my heart. I know she loved you all so much- may God give you Peace that passes all understanding.

We are so sorry to your family for this time of sorrow. Never do we understand when someone we love has been taken from our family without preparing us with an understanding of peace, faith and no hurting….this is absolutely shocking and very sad! Penny was such a happy go lucky individual with a beautiful smile no matter the day!, We liked her from the first day and time we met her! As many did, Penny was never selfish, nor was she above the guy beside her, ….she always had a warm welcome for everyone she talked to .Bob, Vanessa and Nicci, God Bless you all, and know that God will carry you in this time of sorrow if you allow him too. Clay and I are very sorry to you and our thoughts and prayers are with you!

I was quite taken by sadness to learn of Penny’s passing. Having grown up with her in the same Otsego neighborhood, I will always recall her as “the pretty girl who lives in the brick house on the corner.”

Our family is so taken with the loss of our childhood dear friend and neighbor. Our prayers are with Penny’s family and friends, we will miss her wonderful smile and hugs. May God be with you during the time of healing. Remember all that she was for I will miss her.

Dear Bob,
I really don’t know what to say that hasn’t already been said. We are so sad and this is so surreal. Penny was the closest person I had to a sister, and will miss her terribly. My heart breaks for you and the girls.
God will help you with your healing process. Like I told you, keep doing the things you enjoy and it will make things easier. Much love, my brother. You are always in my prayers.
