Owen E. Pathic, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Pathic was born April 1, 1940 in Alamo to Owen Sr. and Rosa (Pierce) Pathic and was a lifelong resident of the area. He owned and operated the Alamo Marathon station for many years and for over 32 years was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors. For many years he served as a volunteer member of the Alamo Fire Department. He also worked at the Drobny farm, doing repair and farm work. Owen enjoyed roasting pigs for parties and attending auctions. On April 18, 1958 in Kalamazoo he married Viola Roe, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters and a son, Robbin (David) Williams of Alamo, Jeff Pathic of Otsego and Christina Pathic of Alamo; six grandchildren, Larry (Catherine) Moore, Kelley (Adam) Miller, Allison (Curdy) Hall, Brandon (Halisha) Cunningham, Keith Cunningham and Robert Cunningham; six great-grandchildren, Faith, Anna, Kara, Keelie, Mason and Landon; a step-grandson, Michael Williams; three sisters and a brother, Pat, Evelyn, Mary and Dick; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Joyce; and a brother, Billy. Friends may meet with his family at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, beginning at 10 A.M. Saturday
until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M., the Rev. G. Patrick White officiating. Burial at Alamo Center Cemetery will follow. Contributions in memory of Owen may be made to his family toward expenses.
