Norma Jean Stoneburner age 79 passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born September 15, 1937 in Alamo Township the daughter of Milford and Goldie (Irwin) Tayer. For many years Norma had worked at V&V Lumber in Alamo retiring in 1995. She had also worked at First of America Bank. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, sewing, bowling and playing cards and bingo. Norma had been a 4-H leader and loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On June 23, 1956 at Alamo Congregational Church she married Harry Stoneburner who survives.
Also surviving are her 4 children, Louie (Gwen) Stoneburner of Pullman, Laurie Stoneburner of Battle Creek, Leslie (Colene) Stoneburner of Alamo and Lee (Susan) Stoneburner also of Alamo; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Brooke, Dustin, Raymond, Jordon, Cordell and Cora; 4 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Grace, Kambree and Kailynn along with her sister, Mary Ellen Stoneburner.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may visit with Norma’s family from 5-8 P.M. on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tom Koning officiating.
Burial will follow at Alamo Center Cemetery.
Contributions in memory of Norma may be made to Faith Chapel Ministries or to the Alamo Nursing Home.
