Nelson Norton

Nelson C. Norton of Otsego passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Allegan. Nelson was born April 1, 1935 in Leoma, TN to Carl and Dollie Norton. He served his country in the Air Force. Nelson worked for GM for 28½ years retiring in 1993. In his leisure time he enjoyed building model airplanes and had an interest in anything to do with planes and flying; he enjoyed working with wood; camping and spending time with his family. He was a member of Otsego Elks Lodge.

On January 29, 1972 he married Marilyn Filtenborg who survives. Also surviving are his children, William Norton of SC and Lucinda of Ohio; step children, Daniel (Lynn) Filtenborg of Shelbyville and Lisa Wheat of Three Rivers; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Bonnie, Carolyn, Louise and Fay. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service may be planned in the future.

so sorry to hear about the passing of nelson, I worked with nelson for many years at gm,I enjoyed being around him he was a very pleasant and honorable man,sorry we lost contact after the plant closed.all my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Marilyn, Sorry to know that Nelson passed away, Lee passed away April 11, of this year. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
