Morris R. Stoughton Jr.

Morrie passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at his home in Otsego.

He was born December 11, 1930 in Otsego, the son of Morris Sr. and Audrey (Edson) Stoughton. Morrie graduated from Otsego High School in 1949. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Morrie enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, chopping wood and gardening.

He had a very strong faith and was a hard working Christian man. Morrie was happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always where he was needed whether they knew it or not. On March 3, 1951 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, he married Jeanette Curtis who passed away in 2002.

Surviving are his children, Lee (Vicki) Stoughton, Robert (Judy) Stoughton, Gregg (Laurel) Stoughton, Robin (Kevin) Boulter and Jerry (Christine) Stoughton; grandchildren, Kyle, Chris, Jason, Jessica, Paul, Sarah, David, Samantha, Erick, Brandi, Trevor and Garret; 14 great-grandchildren and his siblings, Betty Galloway, Eva Belding and Linda Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings, Don and Marv Stoughton and Shirley Campbell.

Friends may visit with Morrie’s family from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2019 with Carol Hoeve officiating.

Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego.

Robin I was so sorry to hear the passing of your dad. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. Your dad was a great guy. My mom never had anything but nice things to say about him when she would talk about them growing up together. Sending you love as well
