Maurice passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Wyoming.
He was born June 20, 1934 in Watson Township, the son of Clarence and Florence (Blair) Simpson. Maurice was a 1953 Martin High School graduate. He worked for Valley Metal and retired from the state bridge crew due to an injury in the early 70’s.
Maurice loved working with his hands and could build anything. He had been an assistant leader with the Boy Scouts of America when his boys were younger.
Surviving are his sons, Harold Simpson and Mark Simpson; grandson, Tim and brother, Roger (Jane) Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his children, Ruth and Larry and 6 siblings, Betty McDonald, Clayton Simpson, Bob Simpson, Lorraine Henry, Geraldine Blake and John Simpson.
Friends may visit with his family starting at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 6, 2021, at Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Ray Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego Township.

To Mark, (and your family whom I don’t know),
Sorry to learn of the loss of your father. I think you are the Mark from the American Legion Post in Otsego. It is sad to lose a loved one, and when it is a parent we lose history and we children move up the ladder in the chain. My condolences to you.
