Marjorie L. Hendricks

Marjorie L. Hendricks of Otsego, Michigan, passed to her heavenly Father on November 8, 2009. She was born in Vestaburg on April 22, 1922, the daughter of the Reverend Alson D. and Helen (Irwin) Hendricks. Marge was a gifted musician, and after World War II formed a dance band with her brother Irwin, playing many venues along Lake Michigan. She played piano, organ and vibraphone, and taught private lessons for many years in both South Haven and Otsego. She was a great animal lover, especially of dogs and cats, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Irwin and sister-in-law Betty and her niece Pamela Rowe. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Stan Rowe of Midland, Darryl and WiSeon Salisbury of Vicksburg, Lani and Tom Poynter of Copper Harbor, Dene Hendricks of Otsego, Wendy and Brian Moyer of Reinholds,PA, Kenton Hendricks of Parchment; her great nieces and nephews Tamara Kosinski of Ann Arbor, Kaitlin Hendricks of Plainwell, Lisa and Shannon Enders of Muskegon, Shona and Chad Drake of Kalamazoo; her dearest friends Debbi Coleman and Jenny Hoogerhyde, and many friends and former students. Visitation for Marjorie will be held at Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11a.m. with Pastor Joe Shaler officiating. Interment will be at Grand Junction Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Kalamazoo County Humane Society.
