to Michael and Marie (Foltz) Ortman. Margaret was a member of the Alamo Triangle Club, the Alamo Historical Society, and a long time participant in RSVP (a shut-in program). She loved to read and bake cookies for her grandchildren. Margaret also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working outdoors, vegetable gardening and canning. On
March 2, 1934
, in
Chicago
she married Joseph Marschall, who died in 1981. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Chris Marschall; a grandson, Chris Marschall; two brothers, Melvin Ortman and Joe Ortman; and a sister, Betty Wilde. Surviving are her son, Melvin (Linda) Marschall of Otsego; a daughter-in-law, Sue Marschall of
Rockford
; a granddaughter, Diane (Gene) Slater of Otsego; 5 great-grandchildren, Michael (Jen) Slater, Scott (Kim) Slater, Keri Slater, Kevin (Laura) Slater, Kristy (Travis) Taylor; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Kolton Slater, and Gage Fifelski; several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 2 to 5 Sunday at the
Winkel Funeral Home,
Otsego,
where services will be held at
11:00 AM
Monday, Pastor Bill Walker officiating. Burial will be at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to the Alamo Community Congregational Church or the Alamo Nursing Home.
