Louella M. Stratton of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Stratton was born November 30, 1923 in Otsego to Howard and Gladys (Halstead) Kitsmiller and was a lifelong resident of the area. Louella was a graduate of Otsego High School and for many years was employed as a secretary with Western Michigan University, retiring from W.M.U. Food Service.
In her leisure time she enjoyed bowling, birds, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, world travel and especially her grandchildren.
On March 20, 1941 Louella married Donald ‘Bud’ Stratton, who died in 1986. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Jimmy.
Surviving are four children, Gary (Pat) Stratton of Kalamazoo, David (Kathy) Stratton of Alamo, Pam (Tom) Lewis of Otsego and Trudy Bentley of Otsego; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters, Harold ‘Cap’ (Donna) Kitsmiller of Kalamazoo; Phyllis (Jim) Rogers of Haines City, FL and Joyce (Lloyd) Santee of Allegan; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the
Winkel Funeral Home
, Otsego, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, Rev. Carol Newman officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

PAM&TRUDY & FAMILY, I WAS SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOUR mom for a friend. SHE WAS ONE SPECIAL LADY. SURE DO HAVE SOME GREAT BOWLING MEMORIES. what fun we had. SO SORRY i wont be able to come on Wed., but I SURE WILL BE THINKING OF YOU.

So sorry to hear about your mom, she was a great and funny lady
I remember the days working at WMU in the kitchen during the summer when your mom was there working with my mom they were friends and when they bowled at WMU too. I had run into her a couple times after so long and she still remembered who I was and it felt good to see her.You guys keep in your minds and hearts all the good times that were had by you all. My thouhgts and prayers are with you both.
