Lisa N. Shinault-Holmes

Our beautiful daughter, Lisa, went home to be with her Saviour on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home in Plainwell.

She was born April 4, 1973 in Paw Paw, the daughter of Paul and Brenda (Brown) Shinault. Lisa was a 1991 graduate of Bloomingdale High School and received her BA in business from Cornerstone University. For 11 years she worked as office coordinator at Tengam Engineering in Otsego.

Lisa loved and adored her son Jack and enjoyed watching him play sports. She also liked relaxing in her hot tub, mowing the lawn, writing her blog and spending time with friends.

Surviving are her son, Jack of Otsego; parents Paul and Brenda Shinault; sisters, Teresa (Mike) Dykstra and Danielle (Roy) Nuismer all of Grand Junction along with 8 nieces and nephews and 2 great-nieces.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

On Saturday, July 31, 2021 friends may greet the family from 11:00AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:30AM at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in South Haven with Pastor Larry Phillips officiating.

Burial of ashes will take place at Grand Junction Cemetery at a later date.

Contributions in memory of Lisa may be made to a scholarship fund for her son Jack Holmes.

From the moment you and Lucas saw each other at 3 year old preschool, it was instant friendship. ❤️ I immediately loved your mom and treasure the time we spent together. So heartbroken for your family. Lisa was a beautiful soul and I have such fond memories of her. I will always remember her beautiful smile and quiet nature and the way she lit up our family gatherings. Much love to Jack and the rest of your family.

Lisa was the most amazing, sweetest and strong person I knew. She had a rough start in life but was always positive and she overcame so much. Jack was such a blessing to her and I know how much she adored him. They had such a strong bond. Words cannot express how sad I was to hear of her passing. She had so much more to experience and enjoy in life. My heart breaks for her family.

Lisa is and always will be the most amazing person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Her love for our Lord, Jack, and her entire family and friends were unmeasured. Lisa is the most unselfish person, always thinking of others. Lisa and I went to Cornerstone University together. She always said to me we can do this “together holding hands.” Truthy, without Lisa I probably never would have graduated. Brenda and Paul, I only met you once and that was when Lisa had her hip replacement. However, listening to Lisa talk about you and how you always supported her through it all. I can’t help but feel I know and love you both I don’t need to tell you how amazing your daughter Lisa is, you already know that. Please know she touched many hearts, mine is one of them. Thoughts, prayers and love as you grief the passing of the most amazing individual God put in my life. Even if it was for a short period of time. Jack know your mother loved you more than life itself. You are the most amazing gift in her life. Thoughts, prayers and love to you all. Lisa, you will be so missed. Words can’t adequately describe the loss we feel. Love you lady, until we meet again. Your everlasting friend.

I met Lisa when she was in high school. I was doing my student teaching and subbing. I was her homebound teacher when she was sick. We’ve kept in touch through the years. She was amazing. She had loved God and found strength, hope, and love through Him no matter what struggles came her way. She was an inspiration. Heaven gained an angel.

Please know you’re all in my prayers.

Sending prayers to the Holmes family.

Jack was part of our “family” every summer on Tuesday’s as he and Robert were best of friends.

Lisa’s LOVE of life will now shine through Jack.

Lisa always had a smile on her face and chatting with her during baseball season, she always brought JOY and positive

vibes to everyone.
