Sam will be missed by the whole community of Otsego. Sam was a good person. Sam was fun to be around and he made others happy with his comments. Playing golf with Sam was a real experience, he had a high handicap but he always seem to play better than that whenever he played against me. I will miss seeing him every Monday morning at the golf league. Family can be proud of Sam.

Sam Goudy a humble, kind, loving, giving and happy go lucky man. A true sign that God is GOOD–God gave Sam one last dance with a beautiful bride, his granddaughter Leslie. I am totally honored to have known this man. My deepest sympathy to all of Sam’s family and to all who loved and will mis— this great example of what a man should be. May God’s grace be with Sam’s loved ones as they say their goodbyes. I love all of you!

I’m so sorry to learn of Sam’s death. He was such a nice and helpful man. I remember writing a story about his work at the city’s waste transfer station to save out anything that other people could use– a man ahead of his time with reuse and recycling.
My condolences to his family.

We are saddened by Sam’s passing. He was such a wonderful person. He and Pat were my Mom and Dads best friends when I was a kid. Our families always went camping together. I believe Sam even tought my dad to golf. Have so many fond memories of him. He was wonderful with Jane and they were two peas in a pod. To Jane and Sam’s family we express our sympathy. May god bless all of you and help you in this time of sorrow.

Although excluded from the rest of the family, I know in my heart that Sam never felt that way. As Robs wife, and three children, we held the utmost respect for honorable man. He welcomed each one of us into the family with open arms and tender hugs, and always had a smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you Jane.

Sam was a wonderful man, very kind, and giving to those in need, friendly and so helpful.
We lived near Sam and Pat starting when I was about 10 years old, and my parents were good friends with them, so we spent a lot of time with the family.
I have such good memories of fun evenings with the Goudy family back then. I will never forget Sam’s wonderful laugh! It makes me smile just to think of it now.
I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sam’s family and Jane. We will miss his kind soul. He never drove by the house with out a wave or honk. The neighborhood will never be the same. One thing is for sure, he will be watching over us. Rest In Peace Sam.

Sam was just a great guy. One that you could always depend on to be there when you needed him. His advice and management was valuable when I was Mayor of Otsego and he was DPW superintendent. My sympathy to his family and to Jane.

My “heart broke” when I heard about Uncle Sam dying….all of us, Ron (God rest his soul) me and Jeff all loved him so much…I knew Uncle Sam ever since Ron and I got married back in 1966 and almost every weekend, Pat,Sam,Grandma Jackson, Ron, me, most of the time Linda and Faust would play cards most of the time at Grandma Jackson…and I will tell you one thing NEVER did I ever see him that he was not in a good mood, happy, joking around, just being “Sam”,,,,it too took Sam and me to keep the rest of the “Out-Laws” under control…and that was a chore…we never got quite as excited or upset when we lost at cards as they did.
I loved his children as well and to you my heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow…we have certainly had our share in this MacDonald, Jackson, Goudy Family…Just know I am thinking of you and a lot of my personal loved ones are up in Heaven with him.
Love you always, Sue Jackson-Shumaker
