I doubt this will reach you at this late date, but I just came across this obituary. My late father, George Edward McDonald served with Leonard in the US Navy and thought the world of him. He always credited “Chief Ski” with putting him on the right track for his Navy career. (He also retired as a Chief Petty officer after 25 years of Service) They kept in touch over the years. My dad died in 1995. I will never forget what Leonard said when I phoned to give him the news. He told me: “George was one of the best shipmates I ever knew,” RIP to them both. George T. McDonald (Madison, WI)
