Leonard E. Bush

Leonard passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital.

He was born August 1, 1937 in Allegan, the son of Albert and Choletta (Trimm) Bush. Leonard served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked at Crescent Pipe, Rockwell International and Tru Heat in Allegan.

Leonard loved music and was an avid bluegrass musician.  He enjoyed playing bluegrass music at the local McDonald’s and traveling with his wife to many bluegrass festivals in the area and surrounding states. Leonard also enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with his lathe. On October 9, 1959, he married Lois Counterman at her parent’s home.

Surviving are his wife; children, Leonard Bush of Kalamazoo and daughter, Wendy Bush Jackson of Allegan; 1 granddaughter, Christy Jackson; 2 great-grandchildren, Jayce and Kyren; brothers, George, Lyle and Dale (Barb Berry) Bush; sister, Donna Comstock along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. when we will travel in procession to Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery for a graveside service with celebrant Mary Ann DeVries officiating.

Military Honors by Otsego VFW Post #3030.
