Landen Thomas Jorgensen has always been a fighter and overcame everything that he was ever challenged with. He was born May 13, 2010 as a 24 week preemie and identical twin. Immediately, he showed everyone that he was here to stay…. Over 100 days in NICU, countless surgeries, medical issues and setbacks he overcame every single one of them through the years. He was the definition of unconditional love and resiliency. He fought until the very end but finally met a challenge that his body was unable to conquer. He passed quickly and comfortably Saturday morning at Bronson Pediatric ICU, October 30, 2021.
He lit up a room with his megawatt smile and contagious laughter, touching every person he came in contact with. Family, friends, teachers, aides, Doctors, even strangers in the store all instantly loved him and were inspired by his love of people, fun, a little bit of trouble, going fast, and his “word of the day” which usually lead to everyone laughing with him.
Landen taught all of us what it means to persevere, how to love life and appreciate the little things. This usually meant snuggles, cartoons, people talking to him, his favorite toys, and music. We will miss him dearly, but feel so fortunate that despite everything we had 11 1/2 amazing years with him. Thank you to every single person who has touched his life, and been a part of this journey with us. It takes a village and we are so fortunate you were all there with us and continue to be. He loved every single one of you.
Landen was proceeded in death by his identical twin brother Aiden James who survived a week after birth, along with several other family members that were special to all of us.
He leaves behind his mother, Samantha Jorgensen-Gazi (Bret Pittman); step-dad, Vance Gazi; and four siblings, Grant (17), JP (15), Matthias (14), and Eliza (8) Gazi; grandparents, Jerry Jorgensen, Dorothy Jorgensen (Don Stoughton); great-grandparents, Mary (Dick) Carruthers, Joyce Jorgensen; aunts, Devenn Simonds (Anthony), Angela Halopulos, Jennifer Evink; step-siblings, Hannah (Logan) &, Gavin Pittman and cousins he loved like brothers, Elijah & Link Jorgensen- Simonds.
Friends may visit with Landen’s family from 4-7PM, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.
A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held on Friday.
Burial will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Landen may be directed to his family to help with expenses.

Surely there is no loss that is sadder or hard to understand. Know that those who care about you and your family are thinking about you with deep compassion. Landen was sent to you for a brief time and now his spirit is meant to fly. With deepest sympathy.

I am so horribly sorry about your lose. Kids are a motivation for life and I know have 3 kids myself. And if anything happened to me they would be lost! But I know grief has no time timble. Grief is something very har# to deal with believe me I know! Please take care your son is at peace now with God and he will be your guardian angel for life because he knows that he was loved and missed.

To Samantha and family,
Landon was such a bright and brilliant light. He light up the world and the souls of us all. I loved seeing all of his amazing achievements. And watching grow into the brilliant young man. Seeing his beautiful smile through pictures and videos always brightened my day. My daughter knew him from KRESA. She sends her love, and will miss her friend. My family sends you all love and prayers

Sam,
I remember when you told me you were pregnant for Landen. I remember babysitting him when he was still a baby and I would lay on the floor and the two of us would watch cartoons. at that point Landen didn’t care what cartoons were on he just wanted to watch something. I don’t know how I came about calling him monkey but he loved it.
Landen will be greatly missed by all that knew him and loved him. R.I.P. our little angle fly high.
until we meet again Landen. I’m praying for everyone that our hearts heal…
love you all
