Kenneth A. Nutter
Ken passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Allegan.
He was born January 28, 1932 in Kalamazoo the son of Allen and Alice (Lewis) Nutter. Ken served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. For 43 years he had worked at the James River Paper Mill. In his spare time Ken enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and board games. He was a dog lover and often volunteered to walk the dogs in his neighborhood. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church of Otsego and the Otsego American Legion. On June 26, 1954 in Otsego he married Yvonne LaDuke who passed away in March 2016.
Surviving are his children, Ken Nutter of Kalamazoo, Steve (Trisha) Nutter of Hopkins and Scott (Deb) Nutter of Allegan; 8 grandchildren, Ashleigh, Caitlin (Josh), Zachary, Lexi, Lindsey, Kaileigh (Chris), Danny (Jamie) and Aaron (Daggris); several great-grandchildren and brother, Earl Nutter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Michelle Nutter and sister, Helen.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Otsego with Pastor Merlyn Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Ken may be made to the
American Diabetes Association
or to the Otsego American Legion.

Dear Nutter & Fritz family,
Just learned of Ken’s passing. He was such a wonderful, gentleman who loved his family deeply. I was blessed to get to know Ken and Yvonne by knowing Michelle at Christian Neighbors. Michelle was my longest serving staff person and truly a gift to know. So sorry for your loss but I rejoice that Ken is with his Lord and his wife and daughter. God Bless you all and may you feel the Peace of Jesus.

Dear Nutter Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with you mother at the court house and took my children to your parents home every Halloween for special treats and hugs. I made a giant wooden Christmas Card that your dad put on each year around Halloween time for the upcoming seasons.
I loved how your folks treated my two children as their own grandchildren and they will be missed.
Thoughts & prayers that they are together again.

Lynda and I are very saddened by your loss. we both knew Mr.Nutter thru the Village Inn where Lynda had the pleasure of serving him quite often over the years. he was an amazing man,and will be greatly missed.FAREWELL KEN.and thank you for your service.

I knew Ken Nutter since 1973 when I worked at Brown Paper Company. He was always a hard worker, and a great union Stewart. Ken stood up for you and didn’t take much *#+@ from anyone. Years later in the fall of 2000, I was the commander at the Legion Post 84 in Otsego. Back then we meet in a pole barn in the beginning days, and in walks Ken Nutter to join the legion. I had the honor to swear him into post 84, where he stayed until his death near 17 years later. Ken was a proud legionnaire, and always carried the American Flag straight as an arrow marching down the street. His shoes & uniform were always inspection ready, and worn with pride. Ken, I salute you for defending our country in time of war, also, being a great father and husband. Ken brought to Post 84 a sense of pride and honor that only a few have done. I honor the time we had working together, and being legionnaires together.

Many fond memories of our childhood together in the mid 1040’s in Oshtemo. My condolences to the family. I know he will be greatly missed.
