Kendall ‘Ken’ Holmes, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 in Otsego. Ken was born July 29, 1957 in Allegan the son of Earl and Mable (Kurtz) Holmes. He had been employed at Harding’s Market in Otsego. He enjoyed yard work and computers, but his wife and kids were first in his life. On January 26, 1980 in Otsego he married Melinda ‘Lindy’ Watson who survives; also surviving are his 3 children, Jessi (Joseph) Sturgis, Justin (Taylor) Holmes and Jami Holmes; 3 grandchildren, Chloe and Riley Sturgis, Audrey Holmes and one more on the way; 3 brothers, Steve (Marie) Holmes, Don (Eileen) Holmes and Russ (Marsha) Holmes; and his mother, Mable. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Holmes; a granddaughter, Ilah Sturgis and his cousin and best friend, Gary Holmes. Friends may meet with the family Tuesday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, MI where services will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family to help with funeral expenses.
