An angel was called home today..I can’t say it any other way… She fought the fight, but still worried about everyone else but herself. She loved life and looked for the best out of it. Always insisting that we all be happy. I loved her very much and she will always be with me…as with so many others she held dear to her heart.
In sadness and love

Although I haven’t seen you all in years, great memories of your family remain. It broke my heart today when I heard the news. I haven’t seen Kel since she was the neighborhood babysitter. She seemed to be watching someone’s kids all summer. I pray for you all, and I pray for Kel’s family. My heart goes out to her children and of course, George, God give you strength.

Another Angel has gone before us to ensure our next reunion will be one of peace, love and no pain. It saddens me to hear this new on one hand and blessed news for her on the other. Kel gracefully fought this battle to the very end, and that alone says it all. I am so very sorry for the loss these two families have endured. Kel was one hell of a women, one that always had a smile, a hug, a sincere “how are you”, a laugh, a story, and a memory of a day gone passed. I am so glad I had one of those encounters this past summer when we moved our “Girls Week” to Pine Lake in lieu of South Haven. My love, hugs, thoughts and prayers are with these two wonderful families..I love you all….P.S. I know there was several Special Angles there to great her…

About 30 years ago on Mother’s Day we were having dinner at Red Brick Inn in Plainwell. Earlier it had been raining, but it had stopped and everything looked so very green outside. Our waitress came to our table, and my husband and I both thought how beautiful she was. We also were intrigued with her name. She told us that her parents couldn’t decide between Kelly and Colleen, so they came up with the combination of Kelene. We immediately fell in love with that name, and decided if we ever had another daughter, for we had two sitting at the table, we would name her Kelene. On April 30, 1985 our Kelene was born. Yes, she is named after the beautiful girl who waited on us that rainy Mother’s Day. I wish I would have gotten in touch with Kelene Kay to tell her this story, but something tells me that she now knows of it.

Wow, Where do I start Kelene????
What a beautiful service, and as Cathy, Shanon and myself sat there, we tried to think of even one of our stories that we could share with everyone, while at church….and of course, there were none that were appropriate! LOL! (I am sure George was sweating , just the thought that one of us would stand up and share even one of “our stories”!) So much laughter, so many good times. We smile every time we think of all those good times with you girlfriend, sometimes even gut laugh like we used to, there was never a dull moment whenever we all got together. You laughing so hard at Doster Store that you would squirt water out your nose and mouth, the baby shower at the Coopers house (one of Shanon’s and my favorites,. we still almost pee ourselves when we relive that night!),our wonderful trip up north to see the beautiful fall colors….wonderful memories, which we will cherish, and share over and over again..but as we know, when the Lord calls you home, it is your time, your celebration in HEAVEN, no matter the sorrow here on earth….. sometimes… it is a blessing in disguise:
God saw Kel getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he wrapped his arms around Kelene and whispered “COME TO ME”. With tearful eyes they watched you, and they saw you pass away, and although they loved you dearly, they could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, caring, loving hands at rest, God broke your hearts to prove to you, he only takes the BEST.
Till we meet again in the glorious destination that is ours girlfriend, save us a spot on your pontoon boat up there, you are at peace my friend, no more pain….fly like the ANGEL that you are….I feel blessed that another ANGEL walks with me, blessed to have known you and to have had you as a friend….to George, Sara, Drew, Kobe, Ripper and DJ…..your ANGEL walks with you now and always…Open your hearts to what is around you, there are no such things as coincidences, Kelene will let you know that she has found peace, and then you will be able to find peace in your hearts once again…………..p.s. We were always called “The Doster Girls” for we worked hard while at work and worked even harder at enjoying life when we got out of work, those were the days, those were great times…funny how the Lord brought us together then friend…..and now, he brings us together once again….RIP my Friend…….When I think of you Kelene, all I can do is smile, as there were so many great times, so many great memories! Thank you my friend ………LOVE ALWAYS KELENE……LINDA 🙂

Kelene we will miss your smiling face at Doster store…you always brought sunshine to everyone you touched. We still remember dancing to Billy Idol at your wedding, and having a blast…I know that you are in a much better place now, without pain. Have fun in heaven, its a great place.
